Backing up the panel itself

The installation already includes a daily backup of the panel’s database (projects, settings, users, history):

  • it runs every day at 3 a.m. (variable DEPANEL_BACKUP_HORA);
  • it keeps 14 days of copies (DEPANEL_BACKUP_DIAS) in /opt/depanel/backups.

A copy on the same disk does not protect you from a disk that dies. In Settings → Panel backup (Configurações → Backup do painel), choose an S3 destination: new copies are sent there, with the same retention.

You can download a copy from the screen (only people who administer the panel).

To restore on a new server: install Depanel, stop the panel, restore the dump into PostgreSQL and put the same DEPANEL_CHAVES_MESTRAS from the old server in the .env. Without that key, the stored passwords and tokens cannot be opened.
