Connect Proxmox
Depanel talks to Proxmox VE through the official API, using a token just for the panel.
1. Create the user and the token
Section titled “1. Create the user and the token”In the Proxmox shell, as root:
pveum user add depanel@pve --comment "Depanel"pveum acl modify / --users depanel@pve --roles PVEAuditorpveum user token add depanel@pve painel --privsep 0The last command shows the token’s secret only once. Keep it.
With the PVEAuditor role, the panel only reads: inventory, charts, storage, network and hardware.
2. Connect it in the panel
Section titled “2. Connect it in the panel”In Proxmox → Connect (Proxmox → Conectar), enter:
- the address (e.g.
https://203.0.113.10:8006); - the token (
depanel@pve!painel) and the secret; - the certificate’s SHA-256 fingerprint, if it is self-signed (the panel shows how to get it).
3. Enable writing (optional)
Section titled “3. Enable writing (optional)”To create VMs and start, stop or restart them, give the token the PVEVMAdmin role on /vms and the
Datastore.AllocateSpace permission on the storage where the VMs live. Then use Enable writing (Liberar escrita) in the panel (it asks for
confirmation). You can go back to read-only at any time.
VM groups and protection
Section titled “VM groups and protection”In VM groups (Grupos de VMs), separate VMs by tag, pool, ID range or name. Protected groups cannot be shut down or changed by the panel — use them for critical VMs that another team looks after.
